I would suggest from powerlines to moanalua. You start climbing up the “major” saddle and downclimbing a “lesser” saddle. Since it’s your first time, I would suggest that route as you’d rather climb up obstacles than down. You will end up climbing down on the moanalua side, but that’s the trade off. Check all the ropes and webbings first as most of them have been there years and one snapped last year, sending one guy plunging over 80′ and had to choppered out. Stay safe.

My group is considering doing this route, since Kalihi bowman side and Moanalua Heaven side are the only saddles I have left to finish.

Do you advise starting at Powerlines and ending at Moanalua valley, or the other way around?
